Hello Redhawk Family!! My name is Virginia Bernal and I teach 3rd grade reading. This is my 11th year teaching in Canutillo Independent School District and my 9th year at Reyes Elementary. I enjoy working with all of the unique personalities that make up a classroom, nurturing mutual respect for our differences and fostering a growth mindset. My teaching philosophy is to work with each child to consistently establish and exceed personalized goals preparing them for success. My favorite quote is from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. – “Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” I believe that strength of mind and kindness of heart are exemplar qualities to strive for and my classroom environment is built on this belief.
